1970's FRITO-LAY MASCOT W.C. FRITOS

"Greetings My Little Chip-A-Dees!"

With the Frito Bandito 'retiring' in 1971, he was replaced by W.C. Fritos, modeled after 1930's era comedian and actor W.C. Fields.

Some of W.C. Fritos' famous bylines included

"Greetings my little chip-a-dees."

"W.C. Fritos here."    AND

"Anybody who love Fritos Corn Chips can't be all bad."

Some W.C. Fritos themed items in the 1970's included pencils, erasers, stickers, and even Valentine's Day cards.

At least we do still have 'The Greatest Chip in the World!'
