1970s STYLE CLEAR MUSHROOM DOME BUBBLE RAIN UMBRELLA

1970s STYLE CLEAR BUBBLE RAIN UMBRELLA

These adorable umbrellas from the 70's were not only super cute but also very practical. The clear waterproof material allowed you full visibility while also keeping you perfectly dry.

They’re designed to be held not just hovering overhead, but instead, with your head right inside the umbrella — which is why clear material was so essential.

The domed shape kept the umbrella from being caught by the wind and turning inside-out. It also kept you safe from the wind - and pelting rain or sleet - as well.

Best of all, rain wouldn't get in your eyes. In fact, nothing would blow in your eyes - not even leaves and other debris that would get kicked up by the wind.

It was like your own personal 'bubble' of protection. Having visibility and protection from the elements allowed you to actually enjoy a rainy day.

Whether you have a hunkering for the past, or just want some great, fun protection from the rain, there are many styles of the Clear Bubble Umbrella still available  today:

1970's STYLE MOLESKIN BELL-BOTTOM PANTS & RUST STRIPED CAP-SLEEVE SWEATER

Clothing styles in the 1970's had a certain look to them that's been hard for fashion designers to replicate.

The colors, patterns, and materials were all very specific to that certain era. These 2 pieces are a couple of really good examples.

This pairing of a retro striped cap-sleeve sweater with rust moleskin button-up trousers would be a worthy 70's style befitting Marcia Brady.

As usual, it's always fun to try and see if there are any styles still out there that are similar.

Maybe some of these would do....
