GEE YOUR HAIR SMELLS TERRIFIC FRAGRANCE SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER FROM THE 70'S

This shampoo really did make your hair very 'fragrant' 

Although it doesn't smell exactly the same as in the 70's, this description explains why:

One whiff of Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific brought us back to the time this shampoo and conditioner first hit the scene, and discos and mood rings were still in vogue.

Since “Gee” debuted over four decades ago, the International Fragrance Association's (IFA) has listed deer musk, one of its key scents, as an unacceptable ingredient.

We recreated our version of “Gee” using the original “recipe” without deer musk and found that it smells very similar to the flowery, spicy scent we grew up with.

"Love the smell—reminds me of the '70s, halter tops, and bell bottoms!" wrote customer Joy Johnson, of Hedgesville, WV.

Formulated for today's hair, Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific will leave your locks clean, soft, and shiny, and smelling…well…terrific!

Available in shampoo / conditioner. 12 oz. bottles. 

Even if it doesn't smell the same, it will make you happy just seeing it there as it 'takes you back'...

UPDATE: Haven't seen 'GEE' available in a while. Original AGREE, another fragrant shampoo & conditioner from the 70's is still currently available, at least for now.

1970's AD FOR COLORFUL 'TICKLE' ROLL-ON ANTIPERSPIRANT DEODORANT

These colorful roll-on antiperspirant dispensers made it more fun to put on your deodorant, even if it didn't really 'tickle'.

But, this magazine print ad from the 1970's does say that:

"Staying drier is nicer with a little tickle..."

There's also a .15 Coupon in the ad, but it's probably (very) expired.

The ad goes on to say:

"Want an antiperspirant that's really new and different? Tickle is the first roll-on with a big wide ball."

"Its surface is just about 4 times the size of most others.  To go on fast and smooth."

"Tickle comes in 4 fresh fragrances: Citrus, Herbal, Floral, Unscented."

"Tickle has a quick-drying formula. And, of course, Tickle really works. It'll help keep you dry all day."

"Make yourself happy with a little Tickle!"

It was a piece of 70's 'designer art' in itself...

With a brightly colored rounded top, matching hourglass dispenser and clear polka-dotted case.

70's RETRO PASTEL COTTON CROCHET FLOPPY HATS & BEANIES

A nice cotton crochet beanie or 'floppy' hat is a great '70's fashion accessory any time of year.

Very cute, especially with the brim turned up.  Style it lots of different ways...

You can even add pins, buttons, or applique's to match your personality.

(And, of course, you can add flowers for some 'Flower Power'!)

SOFT & DRI SPRAY ANTIPERSPIRANT DEODORANT 1970's PRINT AD

This print ad from a 1970's magazine shows two girls arguing over the benefits of Soft & Dri Antiperspirant Spray Deodorant:

"I say it does."  "And I say it doesn't."  "Soft & Dri does help keep me dry. Really dry."  "Soft & Dri doesn't sting me. Even right after shaving."  

Of course, and as intended, both are right.  An argument meant to show all the 'good' things Soft & Dri does, as well as all the 'bad' things it doesn't.

So 'clever' - but, I do really like the pastel crochet hats, not to mention the nice use of pink and orange together in the floral motif on the cans.

This brand is still available today, in Powder Soft, Floral Bouquet, and Soft Scent; by Dial.

Lemon Up Shampoo and Conditioner

With Their Famous Lemon-Topped Bottles!

With their cute lemon-shaped caps, Lemon-Up left your hair squeaky clean, lemony fresh, and with lots of shine.

This long-lost, but not forgotten, brand from the past claimed to be made with the juice of one whole lemon. 


'Lemony' LemonUp shampoo was especially great for oily hair, keeping the 'greasies' away all day.

Lemon-Up Shampoo and Conditioner is actually still on the market, but with a bit different formula than the one in the 70's.


But, there are still many great Lemon shampoos available today, & even one that claims to give you Sunkissed Blonde Highlights!
